Be the Summer has grown alongside a wonderful community of independent makers, artists and creative businesses. Here are some of the people and places whose work I admire—and whose creativity, care and generosity have become part of the journey.
Sasha Lind
Warm, expressive illustrations inspired by everyday life, travel and Sasha’s Chinese-Danish roots. I love the quiet joy in her work and how she turns familiar, easily overlooked moments into something worth holding on to.
Tonari Bageri
A Japanese-inspired micro bakery in Denmark, run by fellow Singaporean Joey. Best known for freshly baked shio pan and chiffon cakes—sometimes with a Southeast Asian twist—Tonari brings together familiar flavours and the simple joy of something warm from the oven.
Shirdel Studio
Handmade ceramics and henna artistry by Afghan maker from Denmark, Arezoo Shirdel. Her work feels wonderfully personal and full of character, carrying the unmistakable warmth of something shaped by hand.
Studio Nüwa
An Aarhus-based ceramic studio creating one-of-a-kind pieces using the traditional Nerikomi technique, where layers of coloured clay are assembled, sliced and shaped to reveal their natural patterns. I love how Studio Nüwa turns everyday objects into small moments of colour, mindfulness and joy.
OSSOLO Copenhagen
A Copenhagen art and design collective bringing together the work of local artists and independent designers—including Be the Summer. More than a shop, it is a shared creative space where you can discover distinctive pieces made thoughtfully and in small quantities.
Sol & Ocean
Thoughtfully designed swimwear created by designer and surfer Mel, based in Singapore, for women who want to move freely and feel confident in the water. I love how each piece brings together beauty, function and real-life wear, with designs carefully tested in the ocean and produced in small runs.
