MATERIAL

Be the Summer jewellery is crafted using 14k gold-filled, 18k gold-plated stainless steel, and 18k gold-plated sterling silver (S925). These materials are hypoallergenic and chosen for comfort and everyday wear.

Please note:
Pearls, glass beads, seed beads, and gemstones are not waterproof.
Some pendants and charms are gold-plated over stainless steel, brass, copper, or sterling silver bases. Over time, gentle tarnishing may occur with exposure to air, skin oils, and moisture — a natural part of how jewellery lives with you.

DURABILITY & WEAR

Like any well-loved accessory, plated jewellery will show signs of wear over time. With mindful care, its lifespan can be extended significantly.

Gold-plated pieces are designed for regular wear, not permanence.
For greater longevity, gold-filled jewellery offers a more durable option.

Gold-filled materials contain a thick layer of solid gold bonded to a core metal (usually sterling silver or high-quality brass), making them more resistant to tarnish and everyday wear than gold-plated finishes.

CARE TIPS

To help your jewellery age beautifully:

  • Avoid contact with water, perfume, lotions, and harsh chemicals
  • Store pieces in a dry place when not worn
  • Clean gently with a soft cotton cloth

Material notes:

  • Gold-filled jewellery is made with a thick layer of bonded gold and is naturally tarnish-resistant. It is suitable for frequent wear with proper care. We recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to water and chemicals to preserve its finish over time.
  • Fully gold-plated stainless steel pieces or material can tolerate occasional contact with water, though drying after wear is recommended to maintain their appearance.

For occasional tarnish on charms or pendants:

  • Use a gentle polishing method sparingly
  • Avoid abrasive cleaning or frequent soaking, as this can wear down plated finishes over time

ALLERGY INFORMATION

We prioritise hypoallergenic materials and use 304 or 316 stainless steel, which contains very low levels of nickel and is typically free from lead and cadmium.

While most people with sensitive skin wear our jewellery comfortably, skin chemistry varies. If you have highly sensitive skin, gold-filled pieces are the safest choice.

HANDCRAFTED VARIATIONS

Each piece is handmade in small batches.

As a result, slight variations in size, colour, or detailing may occur — especially when working with natural materials.

From time to time, small adjustments to design, materials, or pricing may be made as components are sourced in limited quantities. These variations are part of the character of slow, small-scale making.
