Designing Chérie

Designing Chérie

Chérie began with a simple question: how could the feeling of spring live within my Uva series?

I imagined cherry blossom season: soft, fleeting, and quietly joyful. It took me back to April 2018, when I visited the Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival in Seoul. The trees were in full bloom, the air carried a gentle sweetness, and everything felt light, yet grounded.

That memory stayed with me, and slowly shaped Chérie.

HOW IT STARTED

I started with the Chérie pendant which became the Chérie chain necklace, sketching and reworking it in my Copenhagen studio. Soft pinks, lilacs, and peaches found their way in through gemstones, alongside different shapes (rondelle and cubes) that kept it playful but balanced. The form stayed clustered, like Uva: familiar, but lighter.

Once the necklace felt right, the Uva Chérie followed, delicate and almost like a small string of garden candies.

The limited edition choker came last. Unplanned, but inevitable. I wanted a piece that sat close to the skin and carried the same soft spring feeling, whether worn on its own or alongside the necklace.

Chérie is gentle, bright, and quietly playful. I love her with a loose white or pastel shirt, or a simple tank, and denim.

Each piece is handcrafted to order, taking up to 7 working days.

Thank you for being here as she bloomed 🌸

With love,

Esther
