Our creative community

Brands, makers & places I love

Be the Summer has grown alongside a community of independent makers, artists and small creative businesses, many of whom I've met at markets, through friends, or simply by admiring their work from afar. These are some of the people and places whose creativity, care and generosity have become part of this little studio's story.

Sasha Lind

Warm, expressive illustrations by Copenhagen-based artist Sasha Lind, inspired by everyday life, travel and her Chinese-Danish roots. There's a quiet joy in her work. She turns the familiar, easily overlooked moments into something worth holding on to.

Tonari Bageri

A Japanese-inspired micro home bakery in Copenhagen, Denmark, run by fellow Singaporean Joey. Tonari is best known for freshly baked shio pan and chiffon cakes, sometimes with a Southeast Asian twist. It brings together familiar flavours and the simple joy of something warm from the oven.

Shirdel Studio

Handmade ceramics and henna artistry by Arezoo Shirdel, an Afghan maker based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her work feels deeply personal and full of character, with the unmistakable warmth of something shaped by hand.

Studio Nüwa

An Aarhus-based ceramic studio making one-of-a-kind pieces with Nerikomi, a traditional Japanese technique where layers of coloured clay are assembled, sliced and shaped to reveal their natural patterns. What I love most is how Studio Nüwa turns everyday objects into small moments of colour, mindfulness and joy.

OSSOLO Copenhagen

A Copenhagen art and design collective bringing together local artists and independent designers. More than a shop, it's a shared creative space for distinctive pieces made thoughtfully and in small quantities. It's also where you can find a small selection of Be the Summer jewellery in person, made in little batches just for the shop.

Sol & Ocean

Swimwear designed by Mel, a surfer based in Singapore, for women who want to move freely and feel confident in the water. Every design is tested in the ocean and produced in small runs, and I love how each piece brings together beauty, function and real-life wear.
